Situated in a secluded area of Nantucket, this project showcases an original Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown building constructed in 1972, now complete with an addition. The integration of the addition introduces modern elements like an AirBnB space and a yoga studio, contrasting with the iconic architectural legacy of Venturi and Scott Brown. This juxtaposition of the old and the new signifies an evolution, preserving the historical significance of the original structure while embracing the demands of contemporary living and diversified functionality, as well as a contrast from contemporary modernism and post-modernism of the 1970’s.
